A sexy, single lady and Tony Curtis

Sex and the Single Girl (1964)

Sex and the Single Girl (1964)

Scandal magazine writer Bob Weston (Tony Curtis) wants to write an article about Helen Brown (Natalie Wood), the writer of a new relationship advice book.  When she refuses the interview, he uses a different name to gain access to her, but this ruse leads to complications when Bob and Helen fall in love.

Henry Fonda and Lauren Bacall are Frank and Sylvia, an older married couple suffering difficulties in their relationship, and Edward Everett Horton, best remembered for his roles in films pairing Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, has a small role as The Chief.

Freely adapted from book by Helen Gurley Brown by Joseph Heller, this funny and insightful movie about relationships is a clever adaptation of the screwball comedies of the late 1930s and 1940s for the sensibilities of 1960s.
